WELCOME
Lena Sunday suddenly exploded onto the Jazz scene with rave
reviews for her performances, she has people talking. "Her styling is pure magic. Then she overwhelmed the audience, including me, with Cry Me A River"  and Tanya's Song,  "It's A New Day"  (Feeling Good). If anyone can excite with these classic treasures, it is Lena Sunday. She gives us one great performance after another. What else can I say, except that it was moving? Very little talk from Sunday-but that's what I like. Just listening to the music works just fine for me. Sunday's talent reaches into the deepest waves of her soul. Lee Hartgrave, San Francisco Chronicle

Her voice described as a combination of Ella Fitzgerald's pure and high notes, Sara Vaughn's smoky lows, and Billie Holiday's clear and brassy texture, mixed in with her own flavors, she has defined her own sound. Singing with beautiful pure tones at times with such tenderness, only then to surprise you with a surge of power that has brought people to their feet and many to tears. She delivers Jazz, with skilled precision, mixed with a sassy soulfulness, and an honesty, passion and sincerity, as if she is pulling from deep down into her soul and giving you a gift.

Lena is creating new music, but also wants to keep the great Jazz standards alive so generations to come will always know of America's own homegrown treasure, "Jazz". Ms. Sunday has a dedicated and growing audience and frequently packs the house at many of the San Francisco Bay Area's most noted venues, such as Yoshi's Oakland, Yoshi's San Francisco, San Francisco's Rrazz Room, The Berkeley Jazz School, George's in San Rafael. She is looking forward to taking her band across country and abroad to perform her music.

Her CD Release concert “With A Little Help From My Friends” at Yoshi's Oakland, Thursday, August 2, 2012, was received by a sold out audience! Again, she brought people to their feet after an emotional ride throughout a 2 hour concert, with two incredible rhythm and horn sections that delivered Jazz, Blues, Bossa Nova and Afro-Cuban Jazz! The bar was raised, and delivered that night. Each show, she will take you to another place, leaving you wanting more.

After some production delays the CD is here in full swing! We have had orders on reserve since August 2, 2012. It is here, sounds amazing, and it is ready to purchase. "  This is truly a special artist who many have said will make a mark in the industry once she touches all with her special voice, talent & humility. I am honored to write this about an artists who I have had the pleasure to witness & watch show after show, along with an ever growing audience jumping to their feet, crying, laughing, & mesmerized. I am looking forward to the day I can say I knew her in the beginning, when Lena Sunday found her voice & we found Lena Sunday."  Pat Jameson-Amwele, Vukani Mawethu
